CASE STUDYCase study research excels at bringing us to an understanding of a complex issue or object and can extend experience or add strength to what is already known through previous research.

A case study is an intensive analysis of an individual unit (e.g., a person, group, or event) stressing developmental factors in relation to context.

PHENOMENOLOGY Phenomenology literally means the study of phenomena. It is a way of describing something that exists as part of the world in which we live. Phenomena may be events, situations, experiences or concepts. We are surrounded by many phenomena, which we are aware of but not fully understand.

ETHNOGRAPHY

"When used as a method, ethnography typically refers to fieldwork (alternatively, participant-observation) conducted by a single investigator who 'lives with and lives like' those who are studied, usually for a year or more." --John Van Maanen, 1996.

Qualitative research method aimed to learn and understand cultural phenomena which reflect the knowledge and system of meanings guiding the life of a cultural group.

GROUNDED THEORYGrounded theory is a relatively new approach to research originally definedas “the discovery of theory from data” (Glaser & Strauss, 1967,

A grounded theory is one that is inductively derived from the study of the phenomenon it represents” (Corvin and Strauss)
