Implementation Challenges & Issues

Oracle EBS 11.5.10 running on 9.2.0.5. OBIEE requires 9.2.0.7

•EBS upgrade 11.5.10 CU 2

•DB upgrade to 10.2.0.4

30www.bahwancybertek.com

DFFInformation entered in DFF requires

customization of ETLs and Reports in OBIEE

Use of Aliases in Discoverer –Database views were causing

problems

•Original views created with alias names with spaces (“Item Name”)

•Modified to remove spaces (Item_Name)

Page 31: Rapid Implementation of BI with Oracle Business Intelligence Applications

Discoverer alias naming Issue

While migrating from Oracle Discoverer reports to OBIEE, database views causing problems

•Original views are created using alias names mentioned within quotes (“”)

•This created issues in OBIEE while querying data from these views.

•When alias names are mentioned with space in between then these views

Implementation Challenges & Issues

31www.bahwancybertek.com

space in between then these views causes problem while querying in OBIEE.

•So these views have to be modified to remove these “” and update the column name accordingly.

•For example ‘Order Number’ has to be changed to ‘Order_Number’.
