*SEMINAR ON UNMANNED VECHILE

Page 2: Seminar on unmanned vechile

* WHAT IS UNMANNED VECHILE?

*These are vehicles without pilot, and works under the control of software and hardware i.e., remote computer.

*Its flight is controlled either autonomously by computer in the vehicles or under the remote control by a pilot on ground.

*It is mainly drones and driverless car.

*These are of two type:-

1)remote controlled:- with the help of remote computer.

2) automatic control :- according to task (autonomously).

Page 3: Seminar on unmanned vechile

* What is remote computer?

*These are computer which controls unmanned vehicle remotely with the help of communication system.

*Remote computer is controlled by associated officer or pilot.

*Drone for air fight or

bombardment

Page 5: Seminar on unmanned vechile

*Automatic control

*In this, the vehicle is controlled by computer in the vehicle but it performs according to given task.

*It can also be called software control.

*It can perform given task without any pilot.

*Proper software design is needed including ARTIFICIAL INTELLEGENCE and NEURAL NETWORK.

Page 6: Seminar on unmanned vechile

* ARTIFICIAL INTELLEGENCE AND NEURAL NETWORK.

*ARTIFICIAL INTELEGENCE:- It is the intelligence exhibited by the machine or software. OR it is the learning ability of machine.

*NEURAL NETWORK:-it is a system of programs and data structure that approximates the operation of the human brain.

* What unmanned vehicle can do?

*It performs as pilot do.

*It can do better than pilot or associated officer.

*It can do much faster than human/ pilot.

*It can do that task which is not possible for human/ pilot.

*It can save human life.

*It can work for long time without any mistake.

* ITS HISTORY

Nikola Tesla described a fleet of unmannedaerial combat vehicles in 1915.•A number of remote controlled airplaneadvances followed during and after World WarIst.•The first scale RPV (Remote Piloted Vehicle)was developed by the film star and modelairplane enthusiast Reginald Denny in 1935.

* ELEMENTS OF UV

*A typical UAS consists of the following:-

*unmanned aircraft (UA)

*control system, such as Ground Control Station (GCS);

*control link, a specialized data link;

*other related support equipment.

* Classification

*Target and decoy – providing ground and aerial gunnery a target that simulates an enemy aircraft or missile.

*Reconnaissance – providing battlefield Intelligence.

*Combat – providing attack capability for high-risk missions.

*Logistics – UAVs specifically designed for cargo and logistics Operation.

*Cont….

*Military roles:- Navy

*Protection of ports from offshore attack, Placement and monitoring of sonar buoys and possibly other forms of anti-submarine.

Army

*Surveillance of enemy activity, Monitoring of nuclear, biological or chemical (NBC) contamination

*Target designation and monitoring, Location and destruction of land mines

Air Force

*high-altitude surveillance, Radar system, Airfield base security, Airfield damage assessment, Elimination of unexploded bombs.

*Future potential

*In the future, UAVs may be able to perform a variety of unique tasks apart from what they are capable of today.

*Engineers are currently working to produce remotely piloted UAVs that are capable of air to air combat, aerial refuelling, combat search and rescue with facial recognition, and resupply to agents on the ground.

Page 18: Seminar on unmanned vechile

*Design and developmentconsideration

*UV design and production is a global activity with manufacturers all across the world.

*It will capture all types of industries, vehicle,

*Medical treatment and many more

Page 19: Seminar on unmanned vechile

* ADVANTAGE

UV can enter environment that to dangerous to human life.

*Reduce the exposure risk of aircraft operator.

*Can stay in the air up to 30hours.

*Performing a geological survey.

*Performing visual or thermal imaging of a region.

*Can be programmed to complete the mission autonomously even when contact with its GCS

Page 20: Seminar on unmanned vechile

* DISADVANTAGE

*It is expensive and complicated to design.

*It becomes useless due to error at war time.

*Engineers have to spend a lot of time during its design, testing and manufacturing.

*It can harm its owner due to error.
