INCREASED INTEREST FORANTI-ARMOUR/ANTI-TANK CAPABILITIES

• A complex and fragmented security situation

‒ Expeditionary operations and national defence

‒ Increased threat spectrum – ”hybrid warfare”

‒ Resources needed for new tasks such as anti-terrorist operations, cyber defence and civil resilience

‒ The infantry unit must be trained, equipped and armed for a broad range of scenarios.

• Continued reduction in manpower of the defence forces

• Motorisation and the return of the armour threat, incl the Main Battle Tank (MBT)

• High level fire support will continue to be scarce assets

• Air sovereignty can not longer be seen as a constant

• Imminent need for organic fire support at the platoon and squad
