Implementation Methodology – Project Preparation
Phase 1 – Project Preparation
The purpose of this phase is to provide detailed planning and preparation for your project. Although
each Skyward project will have its own unique objectives, scope and priorities, the steps in Project
Preparation will help confirm and plan the principal topics that will need to be considered.
As the project team prepares for the Skyward implementation, there are several important issues that
must be addressed:
- Confirm viability of project goals and objectives
- Confirm the scope of your implementation
- Confirm your implementation strategies
- Specify the overall project schedule and implementation sequence
- Establish the project organization and committees
- Assign resources
By addressing these issues early in your implementation, you will help ensure that the project
proceeds efficiently and that you have established a solid foundation for a successful Skyward
implementation.
Major Milestones
The detailed project scope is signed-off by the project sponsors
The project team is staffed to support the Business Blueprint Phase
Project Strategies are complete and signed-off by the project sponsors

Implementation Methodology – Business Blueprint
Phase 2 – Business Blueprint
The purpose of this phase is to create the Business Blueprint, which is a detailed
documentation of the results gathered during requirement workshops. Furthermore, the
Business Blueprint documents the business process requirements of the company. On this
basis, you achieve a common understanding of how the company intends to run its business
within the Skyward ERP. During this phase, you also:
• Refine the original project goals and objectives.
• Define the baseline scope
• Refine the overall project schedule and implementation sequence.
Major Milestones
Technical environment for development is installed
Business process workshops are run
Business processes are designed and documented
Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Bolt-on, if any are defined
Preliminary Data collection and cleaning approach are defined.
Business Blueprint is created and approved by Project Sponsors. Business
Blueprint outlines

Phase 5 – Go Live and Support
The purpose of this phase is to move from a pre-production environment to a live productive
operation. You must set up a support organization for users, not just for the first critical days of your
productive operations but also to provide long term support.
During this phase, users of the Skyward system have many questions. There must be a solid user
support organization easily accessible to all users. This phase is also used to monitor system
transactions and to optimize overall system performance. Finally, the completed project is closed.

Project Monitoring Framework
Our project management is based on the following philosophies :
It is imperative that a project is supported by an Integrated Project Work-plan which will
help us to carry out
Multilevel analysis: Project, development area, detailed task.
Tracking of progress: Daily and Weekly Status Reviews.
Formal reporting: Monthly and Quarterly reporting to Management.
Steering Committee Meetings: Before and After important milestones
There has to be timely and accurate communications, for which we need to
Publish weekly status reports.
Have an Integration Coordination Team responsible for managing the multiple
module / location configuration issues.
Early user involvement for which we need to
Schedule reviews and system walkthroughs with process owners / super users /
end users.
Ensure a formalized sign-off process.
Skyward Slide 29
Project Monitoring Framework
Reporting and Control
The Project Manager develops a periodic update with the following information
Project executive status
Risk / Issue log
Accomplishments for the week
Goals for next week
Milestone progress
This is discussed with the client project manager during periodic project manager meets
to resolve pending issues and plan further activities
Skyward Slide 30
Training and Knowledge Transfer
Core Team Training
Once the core team is identified they will undergo an extensive training for an agreed
time frame. This training will consist of 3 phases.
The first phase will be Skyward Overview training for all functional team
members.
The second phase will be Skyward functional module, the detailed
product, training for the relevant teams.
The third phase will be the detailed discussion on the interface points
for the relevant teams
The core team will be divided according to the modules assigned to them during the
project initiation phase and each will undergo training in their respective modules.
The training will have required hands-on sessions to enable the team members to work
comfortably with the Skyward system.
Skyward Slide 31
Training and Knowledge Transfer
End User training
The success of an implementation can be achieved only by fully trained end users.
With this in mind we propose to provide the base template to the core team
members who will develop a detailed training plan, training manuals and finally
conduct training for end users. Skyward will facilitate this process by providing the
training strategy and approach.
The end users will be divided in batches as per their functional and process
involvement. Core team will identify and nominate the end users for this training.
Hand-holding support to the users
While Skyward takes the entire core team through the implementation, it has been
Skyward’s policy to provide post implementation support to the implementation team
and the end-users, after the system goes live.
Selected members of the team will be identified for the post implementation support
Skyward Slide 32
Data Migration Methodology
Challenge of data conversion / migration is the coordination between four normally
disparate groups
• Skyward functional
• Skyward technical
• Legacy functional
• Legacy technical
Skyward’s Data Migration methodology
Determine Skyward module and master data
• Skyward will provide the templates for the Master and Transaction data that
needs to be migrated from legacy system to Skyward
Determine Source System
• Determine the legacy source systems that are needed to populate Skyward
data files.
Determine Conversion Method
• Manual or automatic, by analyzing the volumes and complexity.
Skyward Slide 33
Risk Management
Project Risks
Skyward recognizes that implementing a complex ERP system such as Skyward system
may involve certain risks for Client. Accordingly, we shall take steps to mitigate project risk
during the lifecycle of the project. Our approach to risk management is guided by the belief
that:
Project risk is measurable.
Measurement and structure of risk profile is necessary.
Based on risk assessment, different projects require:
• Different project management strategy
• Different project management style
• Different project management skills
During the project, the Skyward team and the Client project management team will conduct
an exercise in risk identification and mitigation jointly.
Skyward Slide 34
Risk Management
Medium riskHigh risk
Low risk Low risk
Complexity of
Technology
Clarity of Business Model
Accordingly, the Analysis stage of the project lifecycle is marked, as a “high risk”
zone, design and construction are “medium risk” zones while execution is “low”.
Skyward Slide 35
Quality Assurance
Skyward brings to the table the unique ability of delivering a holistic solution to a client,
encompassing the need to bring in industry and domain expertise, the needed technology
know-how developed through vendor relationships, and the need for a clear understanding
of the client's business processes, analytical requirements and future vision.
