What is Ultra High Definition?

It’s the next generation high resolution video standard, which has four times the resolution of the current 1920 x 1080 high definition standard.

So Ultra HD is the same thing as 4K?

More or less. Ultra HD stands for a resolution of 3840 (horizontal) x 2160 (vertical) pixels.

4K is a generic term used for displays and video content, having a horizontal resolution around 4000 pixels.

This is the first:Get a 4K tv with the same screen size as your current tv. With 4K Ultra HD, you'll be able to sit closer to the screen and still enjoy razor sharp images. Nice to know, but what you really want is the second option...

Will you see theDifference?

Yes, you will!

Basically…there are 2 options.

4K

And this is the second option:

Get a 4K tv (or a projector system) with a bigger screen size as your current tv. The images will be (a lot) more immersive than before, while the Ultra HD resolution makes sure the image quality is first rate. This time it’s for sure:

BIGGERis better! 4K

First of all, you need a 4K video source. Today, more and more films, shows and series are recorded in 4K. Furthermore, existing HD content can easily be upscaled to 4K.

You also need a 4K compatible AV Receiver, such as Pioneer’s new VSX/SC devices, that is able to pass-through 4K material to your tv.

What do you need to enjoy Ultra HD/4K in your home?

And of course, you need an Ultra HD/4K capable tv or projection system. Those are still quite expensive, but prices are going down rapidly.
