Compression-mount technology

Compression-mount technology means a way of establishing contact between a terminal block and a contact pad on the PC board.

The contact clamps (yellow part) of the terminal block, compressed by their own geometry, press permanently on the contact pad and thus establish the electrical contact. Consequently, a solder process is no longer necessary.
