2003 by Ministry of Railways.

Background of creation of RVNLRVNL was created to:

– Implement railway projects of gauge conversion, new line, doubling or additional lines to remove bottlenecks.

– Through non-budgetary resources– On fast track basis

Vision 2020, Presented by Rail Minister in parliament in Nov 2009) envisages construction of:

25,000 km of new line, 12,000 km of Gauge Conversion and 12,000 km of doubling etc.

HIGHLIGHTS / ACHIEVEMENTS 2nd Mahanadi Bridge (2.1 Km) under ADB Funding completed

ahead of schedule (33 months). Constructed longest railway bridge (4.6 km) along with

navigational clearances in Vallarpadam-Idapally Kochi Harbor project in Kerala in period of 28 months.

Constructed longest subway under the Railway tracks in India - 87m long subway under 12 running tracks by Box Pushing Technology in Chennai.

Adopted the PSC girder span of 45.0m with 30T axle load for the first time on Indian Railways.

Use of Computer Controlled Automated Batching plants of upto 60 cum/hr Capacity.

Construction and handing over of Dankuni Diesel Loco Factory and Haldia DMU Factory in record time.

upto span of 89.3m. Imported Rotary Rigs deployed for piling work. Pug mills installed for mixing of granular

and safety.Mechanized earthwork and track linking. Large size crushers installed for ballast

production.Use of Flash Butt Welding mobile plants resulting

into improved reliability of assets and safety.
