WBA: Mission & Objectives Facilitate adoption of Wi-Fi enabled services through improvements in user experience,
interoperability and service delivery across technologies, devices and networks.
Objectives of WBA Ensure that all WBA activities bring benefits to end-customers while:
Providing an open forum to Operators & Technology Partners for developing enablers, facilitating technical trials and roaming and creating opportunities to engage ecosystem and share learning.
Cooperate with Industry Forums & Bodies to harmonize technical specifications necessary for the seamless Wi-Fi experience across technologies, devices and networks through liaison and collaboration
Provide Media, Analysts and Regulators independent expert views and commentary on existing and emergent issues concerning the Wi-Fi enabled services and growth of the industry
Enable End-users a smooth, consistent and quality Wi-Fi experience

Next Generation Hotspot Trial: • Conduct a trial with the ecosystem players based on the Hotspot 2.0 specification which will be
produced by Wi-Fi Alliance and test out the roaming scenarios
Whitepaper on Wi-Fi Security Define what’s Good; Provide a guide to the minimum standards required to provide reasonable
security for the public access model. Normalize deployment considerations across free-to-user and paid-by-user models. Provide recent examples of good and bad practice. With objective to have decision-makers consider a broad set of criteria in the evaluation process
for a Wi-Fi operator.

Principal Members are General Members or Affiliate Members of the Company who are classified as Principal Members and are able to participate in the Board of WBA after getting duly elected based on the provisions of the Articles & Rules of the alliance (WBA).
Must be a telecommunications operator; and
is able to bring additional wireless broadband coverage and end-users to the Members of the Company; and
has the ability to enter into or facilitate bilateral contracts with other member operators of the Company.
Must be affiliate company of an existing Principal Member or General Member of WBA and have an ability to enter into or facilitate bilateral contracts
Must be able to support WBA user experience requirements for roaming implementation
Must be an industry player with interest in the activities of the Alliance; AND
Must be willing to support WBA’s objectives.
Must be an industry player with interest in the growth of wireless broadband business; AND
Must be willing to support WBA’s objectives.

WBA Membership Application Process Step 1:
– Review the WBA Governance documents and complete the WBA application form ( online or offline) based on the membership category and a signed copy of the Deed of Adherence.
Step 2: – After receiving completed application form, WBA will conduct an internal review &
approval process (around 10 working days). WBA may contact you to seek further clarification on the information or data provided in your application if necessary.
Step 3: – A formal approval along with the invoice for the collection of applicable WBA
membership fees will be sent to the new member by the WBA Secretariat Office. New member is invited to participate in WBA activities upon receipt of payment.
