In the 1930’s people gathered around the family radio

In the 1940’s my mother’s living room carpet had worn spots where the neighbors gathered to watch boxing on television

In the 1960’s our family gathered around a neighbor’s tv to watch Walt Disney on a Sunday evening... in color

In 1997, our family members took turns at the family desktop computer

In 1998 both my husband and myself had our own cell phones

In 2004, all our family members had minicomputers on us at all times...

to attach and send an assignment to their teacher. Instant messaging is their communication systemt.
