Q&A


• We wanted one of the key players in ERP : training material available, investment in development and feedback from a large community of customers.

• Microsoft is a good bet : users all have experience with MS products, usually these products are more user-friendly than other editors.

• Agility for the industry : able to manage our standard production as well as our discrete / project-based requirements.

Why AX?


An ERP project is about the most difficult IT project an organization can be faced with : on top of a complex software, you have to deal with infrastructure, heavy change management and a large budget.

Prepare all you can beforehand :

- People must be used to collaborate together

- Prepare a strong team, define steering committee

- Find a strong project manager

- Solve infra issues that are on the way (servers, network, domain…)

Are we ready for the ERP project?


Cloud better if

• People on the road

• Bad network (WAN)

• Low business predictability

• Cash flow is good, not capital

• Unsure of the solution

• IT staff developers, not admins

On-premise better if

• Employees work at the office

• Few very-well connected offices

• Business is stable

• Company prefers to buy

• Long-term view, solution known

• Cloud not permitted by law

Both solution have good and bad sides. Do not forget network and staff requirements.
