#2: HimmelpfortThis where the German Santa resides. You can visit his house and get a reply from him to your letters too.

In fact when the US Santa (from North Pole) comes down to Europe he often stays here with his German counterpart.

This is a lovely town surrounded by a number of lakes where you can swim, boat and generally chill.

#4: WarrenOn the banks of Lake Muritz –the biggest lake completely within Germany, ‘Waa-hain’ can be a great place to relax and unwind for a few days. There are multiple ferries daily on the lake.

You can also explore the green side of Germany, as the Muritz Nature Park is right nearby.

Walk, hike, boat, swim and a lot more activities here. Should be a great place to take kids too.

#5: FriedrichshafenThe biggest lake in Germany is the Lake Constance or Bodensee, but it is shared between Switzerland and Austria. (Hence, the largest lake within Germany is the previously mentioned Muritz).

Lake Constance is breath-taking. Staying on the banks at Friedrichshafen lets you explore the nearby Switzerland and Austria too but at German accommodation rates.

There are many small towns on the banks of Bodensee, so you can explore all of those for a stay place you love.
