I (along with my extended family; mine is a bigger family with around 3 generations living together) planned for a tour across the seas to the distant land of India. What is India, beyond the Taj Mahal?, charged my spouse. However I didn’t deter, its India this time.

I sat down with my laptop after the noon siesta; browsed through some of the tour and travel booking sites. Talked with few of them and then booked my flight tickets and accommodation with Easy Go Trip. I was suggested for booking the triangular tour package (saw some worthy reviews regarding it too!) and I agreed to it. This name seemed quite magical to me and later on I thanked my sixth sense for guiding me well.

Our journey started during the festival season of December. We landed at India, on the land of non violence. It was only me, in the entire bunch we had come, who was so excited to visit the place. Remember the wild comment of my spouse in the second line? The frown was still there on the face! They weren’t happy; it seemed as if they had been dragged to this place.

After checking in at the hotel The Park New Delhi we all got prepared for our first trip. Oops! I forgot to mention, we stayed at Delhi, the capital city. Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humanyun’s Tomb seemed grabbing everyone’s attention. Yes! They were enjoying. I missed mentioning Qutub Minar! However the maddening crowd at Chandni Chowk distracted my son a bit.

The next day was more eventful. Agra was on the list. The monument which had become the backbone of our discussion and a synonym for India as told by my spouse was right in front of our eyes. The Taj Mahal- the epic monument! Along with the magnificent beauty of the marbled structure, we were more astonished with the architectural complicacy of it. Who said it’s just a love remembrance, none of the highly skilled engineers can beat the constructional complicacy of this monument! Later we visited the majestic Agra Fort.

By the time my third sun rise in India was about to awake me, I was awaken by my kids. They were so excited to start early! Our journey to the Pink City was via Fatehpur Sikri. We visited the Royal Palace museum and Hawa Mahal.

The trip was quite enjoyable. I enjoyed every bit of it and unexpectedly my family enjoyed it more!
