ERARTA-EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE VISIT

The Erarta museum is the biggest non-governmental contemporary

museum in Russia and definitely one of its most exciting. The

spectacularly restored five story building is separated into two parts – one

a gallery where the works are for sale and the other a museum tracing the

history of Russian modern art of the last 60 years.

Some of the works and installations on display are truly monumental in

size and will leave anyone interested in new Russian art swooning. The

passionate curators are constantly updating their collection by travelling

across Russia to find unknown future stars and track down old favourites

from all periods and streams of the Russian contemporary movement.

NONCONFORMISM ART IN ST PETERSBURG

Part of the Pushkinskaya 10 Arts Center, which has

become the (un)official home of St. Petersburg's

alternative arts scene, this ramshackle gallery is a must-

see for anyone with an interest in the development of

modern art in Russia. Housed in several rooms of this

sprawling association of galleries, concert venues, and

studios, the museum represents the most interesting

aspects of independent art from the Soviet Union.

Much of the collection was donated personally by the

artists, many of whom worked or still work with the

Pushkinskaya collective. Official support from the State

Russian Museum has helped to enlarge and formalize the

collection, but it still provides a fascinating glimpse of the

counter-culture in the post-war Soviet period.

GALA DINNER AT LOFT PROEKT ETAGI

Loft Project ETAGI is a pioneer of loft-design in the city of St. Petersburg.

Since 2007 ETAGI (which means "floors") has been located in the very center of

the city in an industrial building of previous property of Smolninskiy bakery

factory. The interior of the old factory was preserved in many elements, like

concrete pillars with metal edges, a drilling machine and equipment for baking

bread; and some designer features were added (the original factory floor of cast

iron blocks with bright red joints and glass windows in it), as well as some luxury

trimming, antique furniture and snazzy details.

Proekt. The tour helps to understand modern art and

gives different concept of art from classical St.Petersburg.
