We had to pass over this bridge, do I need to tell you it

took some time?

Page 3: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

It was much quicker to pass this kind of bridge, as soon as the dogs understood that it wasn’t as dangerous as it looked.

Page 4: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

The dogs liked the lowland trails the most, even more as the trail was curvy and went up

and down hill.

Page 5: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

In Skottland, south of Gäddede, it fell much snow.

Page 6: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

As the trail went on the mountain side it was hard to keep the sledge on the trail

because it kept sliding down.

Page 7: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

In Hotagens nature reserve the snow was partly hard and

partly soft so the dogs had to work really hard to get going.

Page 8: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

The wet snow that fell in Hotagen made the trail

tough.

Page 9: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

In the afternoon it was really rainy and the lake which we were passing

over was covered with 2-10 cm water.

Page 10: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

We had to stay four days in Gäddede to wait for better

weather.

Page 11: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Nice trail on a lake

Page 12: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

The trail crosses were good friends, especially when there was a snow storm.

Page 13: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Fairly often the trail went alongside a

reindeer fence. This made us more attentive,

hoping there wouldn’t be any unexpected

meeting.

Page 14: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Total pleasure

Page 16: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

We are on top of the world – anyway that’s what it felt like.

Page 17: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Sleeping, sleeping, sleeping – Sarek totally relaxed

Page 18: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Before coming to Ammarnäs the trail went over a small stream, on which the ice was really bad. Both the dogs and our feet went all

soaked through.

Among the birhes.

Håkan fell unwillingly every

now and then

Page 20: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

The risk of falling was much smaller on the

lake.

Page 21: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Among the birches Christina often had to work hard to get

the sledge on trail again.

Page 22: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

This was no fun

Page 24: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

What is Håkan doing?

Page 25: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

As we went close to Kvikkjokk there was hardly no

snow again.

Page 26: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Luckily there was snow enough on the bare mountain.

Page 27: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Page 28: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Just vey beautiful

Page 29: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

Going on the water reservoar felt like going on the moon. The surface didn’t seem at all like ice, it was hilly and there were dark holes with

water.

Page 30: Expedition with samoyeds in Skanderna part2

And the landscape was filled with up side down ice craters.
