The Fladgate Partnership is an independent family group which owns the prestigious port houses Taylor Fladgate, Fonseca,
and Croft. Its principal activity and main focus is the production of premium wood aged and vintage Port Wine. The group
owns several of the best known wine estates in the Douro Valley – including the famous Quinta de Vargellas and Quinta do
Panascal.
The commitment to producing top quality Ports remains the focus of our company. Rather than diversify our portfolio to
meet popular demand, we have invested our efforts in the vineyards and cellars to ensure that the quality of our Ports
continues to improve so that we can deliver exceptional offerings to our customers.
A visit to our Port Companies is, surely, a must do. It is a great opportunity to visit the world's finest producers of Port and
taste some of the renowned Ports.
Visitors’ centres
Taylor’s Port wine lodges ~ Visitors’ centre
Taylor’s, accepted by most wine authorities to be the greatest of all port shippers, invites you to a pleasant and informative tour of its famous lodges at Vila
Nova de Gaia. During the tour the visitor will be given the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of Port wine, as well as that of the House of
Taylor Fladgate - now in its fourth century - making it one of the oldest Port companies. Upon completing the tour, which is free of charge, guests are
invited to taste two Port wines: Chip Dry – Extra Dry White and Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) - in the elegant Library Room.
Afterwards, relax on the terrace, which has magnificent views over the city of Oporto or taste the aromatic Olive oil from Quinta de Vargellas, one of the
world’s great classic vineyards. In addition to the tours (which are conducted by specialized guides), the Visitors’ Centre has an attractive Wine Shop and a
wide variety of wine events (e.g. opening of Taylor’s Vintage Port with tongs; Tutored tasting of Port and food & chocolate pairing). Additionally, guests
can enjoy a delicious meal in the elegant “Barão de Fladgate” restaurant.

Croft wine lodges ~ Visitors’ centre
No other Port house has a history longer or richer than that of Croft. Croft traces its origins to 1588 when the company was established in England by Henry Thompson . The Croft family, which joined the partnership in 1736 and gave the firm its present name, served the Port trade with great distinction. The reputation of the firm as a vintage Port producer derives to a large extend from its ownership of “Quinta da Roêda”, one of the finest estates in the Douro valley. In 2008 the firm launched the Croft Pink, the first ever port with a beautiful light ruby colour, achieved from light contact with the skins of traditional port grapes.
In Croft’s magnificent wine cellars, professional and highly educational tours take place all year round, seven days a week, from 10 am to 6 pm. On arrival you will be offered a free Port wine tasting. Afterwards you may, if you wish, taste aged Tawnies, superb vintage Ports or even enjoy an exceptional combination of Port and chocolate. Our visitors’ centre offers a captivating atmosphere, reminiscent of the Company’s 420 years of history and tradition. We also have a wine shop open for our visitors.
OPENING HOURS: Open all year round, seven days a week from 10 am to 6 pm, except January 1st and December 25th. June and July open from 10am to 7pm and in August open until 8pm.

Quinta do Panascal ~ Visitors’ centre
Quinta do Panascal dates back to the 18th century and is the most important estate of the prestigious Port Wine Company “Fonseca Guimaraens”. The estate
has been classified as Grade A, which is the highest grade given to a quinta. The same occurs with its famous wines, namely Fonseca Vintage 1994 which was
recognized by the Wine Spectator Magazine as one of the best wines in the world.
Situated in the Douro Valley Region (a World Heritage site), Quinta do Panascal is open to everyone wishing to visit one of the most famous quintas in the
region. The majestic property is located on the banks of the river Távora. It has the only audio tour available in the region which has been produced in 9
languages. The tour guides visitors through the vineyards and talks about the history of the company, the estate, the Douro Region and, the famous wines
produced by Fonseca Port.In the visitor’s room, which has a dazzling view of the Távora valley, guests are offered a wine tasting that includes Siroco and BIN
nº27 while watching the company’s video. Also available is a small wine shop where the full range of Fonseca’s ports may be purchased.
During the grape-harvesting season, visitors can enjoy the unique experience of watching the men and women treading the grapes in the “lagares”, since the
Port is still produced in the traditional way on the estate.
Quinta do Panascal has also two private rooms which can be booked for meetings, lunches or dinners. Meals of superior quality are fully prepared and supplied
by the estate.

pm. Between July and October open until 7pm

HOW TO GET THERE BY CAR: Take the A4 from Porto to Vila Real. At Amarante follow the directions Mesão Frio, N101 and then Peso da Régua, where you cross to the other side of the Douro River. Follow the N222 in the direction of Pinhao. After 20 km, follow the signs to Quinta do Panascal, just after crossing the river Távora
