Family Holidays

What’s this all about?Florida is perhaps the perfect family holiday location. There are wonderful tropical cities like Miami, quaint little towns like Apalachicola, and acres of wildlife at the Everglades National Park.

However, today it’s all about theme parks! Florida is quite easily the theme park capital of the world with everything from death-defying rollercoasters to enchanting family zoos.

Walt Disney World Disney World is huge, made up of 4 theme parks and 2 waterparks, you oculd quite easily spend weeks here… and many do!

There are hundreds of incredible rides and so many magical attractions including Cinderella’s Palace and dining with cast characters.

It’s not just about the kids here either, as there are also spas and fitness centres, food and wine centres available for all ages to enjoy every day and night.

Universal Studios Universal Studios in Orlando is a universe of actions and thrills. Filled with rides that thrust you right into the movies you know and love such as Shrek 4D and Revenge of the Mummy.

The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit rollercoaster lets you pick the music you listen to and on-board cameras capture your ride to create your very own music video.

Islands of Adventures A traditional theme park, Islands of Adventures has thrilling rollercoasters and a great collection of attractions for younger children too.

Arguably the biggest draw is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This fantastic area brings Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and Hogsmeade to life.

SeaWorld Orlando Not just a theme park, SeaWorld also a marine-life based zoological park, which sees a staggering 5.1 million guests each year.

The park is split up into many different sections, we especially love Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin which features a penguin exhibition and the Manta flying rollercoaster.

Busch Gardens Combining a zoo, safari and theme park in one, Busch Gardens does it all.

There are plenty of kid friendly attractions and big rollercoasters for the older ones. You can even observe and take part in the animal care experience at the Animal Care Centre.

Travel TipsIf you’re intending on visiting more than one park, make sure you check to see if there are combined tickets which can help to decrease the cost of your stay considerably.

Bear in mind the high humidity levels can make travelling quite uncomfortable, especially for small children.
