The Flight into Egypt

The Psalter of Robert de Lisle is an outstanding English fourteenth century illuminated manuscript including narrative miniatures on the Life of Christ and other moral and theological drawings

The Farnese Hours is an illuminated manuscript created by Giulio Clovio, an artist born in Croatia who worked in Italy, for cardinal Alessandro Farnese in 1546. Considered the masterpiece of Clovio, the book of hours is now in the possession of the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York City. It contains religious stories (both Biblical and apocryphal), and illustrations with architectural borders and classical nudes.

The Adoration of the Magi and Solomon Adored by the Queen of Sheba are among the stories depicted in a Book of Hours created for Cardinal Alessandro Farnese during the Renaissance. The devotional had been owned by clergy and kings before it came to America.
