“Show us an activity you enjoy doing. Tell us how you think it contributes to your personal and professional development.”
Being born and having lived in a tiny country (Albania: 250 by 300 km), where travel to other countries was prohibited for over 50 years, I have a particular perspective on and enjoyment of travelling.

I voraciously devoured every little town in neighborhood countries such as Slovenia to the big metropolis of Johannesburg in South Africa: from their respective authors, foods, music, history, and rituals.

“The brain rewires itself according to the content it is exposed to. In neuroscience, the previous prevailing belief had been that the adult human brain is essentially "hardwired," so that by the time we reach adulthood we are stuck with what we have. Now we understand that the adult brain retains impressive powers of "neuroplasticity“ — the ability to change its structure and function in response to experiences real or imagined.” – Trevor Blake
“The reason such travels are mentally useful involves a
quirk of cognition, in which problems that feel "close"-and the closeness
can be physical, temporal or even emotional-get contemplated in a more
concrete manner. As a result, when we think about things that are nearby, our
thoughts are constricted, bound by a more limited set of associations. While this
habit can be helpful – it allows us to focus on the facts at hand – it also
inhibits our imagination.” Jonah Lehrer
