DESCRIPTION

Approaches integrating cycling and public transport in Central Eastern Europe put into a wider context of implemented concepts from all around Europe. The fundamental problem statement is based on the paradoxes of transport planning/lack of integrated planning in the region and the inevitable consequences with regard to the emerging traffic demand and the mindset of planners in the recent past. Introduction of ITP tools and innovative solutions/ methods with a broad outlook. Recommendations and proposals are presented along practices in the following subjects: • Bike & Ride solutions • Cycling accessibility of public transport stations • Bicycle transport on public transport vehicles • Integrated infrastructure planning/design • Tarif design • Integration of bike sharing services into the public transport system • Integrated communication of cycling/public transport
