Naadam festival tour

On this tour you will have an opportunity to see the Naadam festival and it is considered to be biggest traditional sporting cultural event in Mongolia. Mongolian people celebrate Naadam between 11- 13th of July in every year.

Day 1 (9th July) UlaanbaatarMeet at Chinggis Khaan International airport. After short break in your hotel you will be arranged guided city tour of Ulaanbaatar. City tour includes visits of Natural History Museum and Gandantegchilen monastery. After city tour you will be offered ‘Welcome’ dinner at Mongolian finest restaurant in the evening. Day 2 (10th July)Khui Doloon Khudag

First day of Naadam Festival. Visit Khui Doloon Khudag for horse racing competition.Drive back to the Ulaanbaatar and visit archery and shagai (ankle bone shooting) competitions nearby central stadium. Enjoy your free time in the city. Stay overnight in a hotel. /Breakfast ,Lunch ,Dinner/

Day 3 (11th July) Opening ceremony

The official first day of Naadam Festival. Today you will watch the opening ceremony of Naadam Festival opened by the president of Mongolia. The opening ceremony featuring marches from soldiers, athletes celebrities and live performance from State group of traditional music ensemble before the main events commenced. But if you are no interest on watching wrestling competition all the time, there’s plenty to see the things outside of the central stadium– trading activities , crafts various kind of cuisine ,live performance and other traditional sporting events . This is the best time to see the Mongolian people who dressed up colorful traditional costumes for the Naadam and you will definitely feel party atmosphere around stadium.. Day 4 (12th July) Last day of Naadam festival

The official second day of Naadam Festival. Today you will have enjoyed at visiting of Central Stadium for wrestling and horse racing competition at Khui Doloon khudag .Free time in a city. Stay overnight in a hotel./Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner/

Day 5 (13th July) Terelj National Park

In the morning we will be driving toChinggisKhaan Statue. After visiting Chinggis Khaan Statue we will head to Terelj National Park and you will have

opportunity to ride Mongolian horse around the beautiful scenery of valley. Stay overnight in a ger camp./ Breakfast ,Lunch ,Dinner/

Day 6 (14th July) UlaanbaatarIn the morning we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Last day in Mongolia.City tour including the visits of Zanabazar Art Museum and Bogd Khaan Palace Museum.This afternoon your guide will take you to the famous Mongolian cashmere and souvenir shops in Ulaanbaatar. Enjoy your shopping. In the evening you will have Departure Dinner at Mongolianfinest restaurant. Stay overnight in a hotel. /Breakfast ,Lunch ,Dinner/

Day 7 (15th July) Departure

Tour information

During the trip, you will be travelling for 4-8 hours from one to another destination. Every couple of hours, we will have short break for photographs, toilets, stretching etc,,, . On the tour we serve you by 4WD vehicles, mostly Russian and Japanese vehicles. The minivan has capacity of maximum 6 people with luggage and the Japanese jeep has maximum of 3 people with luggage. We always make sure all our vehicles are inspected and well prepared before departure.Overnight mostly we stay at tourist camp and they provide the guest’s accommodation as a ger which is very comfortable and cozy to stay there. Tourist ger camp is able to provide you all the modern facilities including restaurant/bar ,hot shower, western style toilet, etc.,,,

You will be served mostly delicious western style and Mongolian traditional food.

Naadam festival

Naadam Festival is the biggest and most colorful event celebrated nation wide in 11-13 of July of every year. Originated as training for Mongolian cavalry in 13th century Chingis Khaan wanted to be his solders fit and ready for battle at all time.

So he summoned everyone to participate for horse racingwrestling and archery. Now these three are the major event of the festival.

Horse racing

Horse race takes place out of town for a straight line racing. There will be 6 different races depending on horse ages. Not only it’s distance (11-32km) but also hundreds horses in one race will make you really impressed. For the state Naadam Festival celebrated in Ulaanbaatar last year had 600- 700 horses in each race. And you can imagine even more people with horses not participating actual race, which makes the site more than spectacular view.

Wrestling

Wrestling tend to be most popular sport in Mongolia. Mongolian national wrestlers are respected and recognized among the nation as a celebrities status. Despite of its’ technique and way they wrestled their unique clothing and powerful eagle dances make Mongolian wrestling far more distinguished than any other related sports. We are proud that Mongolian four young wrestlers becameprofessional Sumo wrestling champions in a row and has been occupying Japanese stage almost last decades.

Archery

Naadam Festival is been called The Three Manly Sports among Mongolians however women participates for archery. The women shoot 40 arrows from the distance of 65m, while men are shooting from distance of 75m with the same amount of arrows.

Chinggis Khaan Statue complex

Chinggis Khaan Statue complex is located 54 kms from Ulaanbaatar, on the bank of the Tuul River, in a place called Tsonjin Boldog, where Genghis Khan had found a golden whip according to legend. 40 meter high statue on horseback was erected on a 10 meter high base, covered by stainless steel and surrounded by 36 columns. Those 36 columns are meant for the memorial of 36 kings intermarry from Chinggis Khaan until Ligden Khaan. A recreation area, restaurants, souvenir shop and conference hall occupy the base structure. From the ground floor of statue visitors walkup to the head of

the horse through its chest and neck of the horse, using elevator where they can have a panoramic view.

Terelj National Park

Terelj National Park is located in the Khentii Mountains and are by its natural beauty and interesting rock formations. Terelj National Park consisted of forested alpine mountains and gigantic rock formations such as Turtle Rock, etc. It is the most popular tourist destination among the foreign and domestic tourists. The area of Terelj National Park is ideal  for hiking, horseback riding, climbing, sightseeing view and photography.
