Overview of the Train
• Palace on Wheels is Rajasthan’s first ever luxury train
• It was launched in 26th January, 1982
• A joint initiative of Rajasthan Tourism and Development Corporation (RTDC) and the Indian
Railways
• Voted as 4th best luxury train in the world
• The train was designed with original coaches of Rajputs, Nizam and Viceroy of India
