Paris Tips: A Guide to First Time Visit to

Paris

Summary: If you plan to visit Paris for the first time, you will need some Paris tips

to keep up with your planned activities.

Paris, the City of Light, has a lot of exciting activities to offer. For one, there are the

famous monuments and museums. There many museums and monuments, and the

romantic mood it gives to the tourists of Paris are one of the reasons they always have

visited by many tourists and vacationers.

If you plan to explore and want to have an up close and personal experience of Paris, you

might need some of the Paris tips to make your visit as worthwhile as possible. You

might want to have a copy of these Paris tips with you during your entire stay; you will

realize they come out handy.

Paris’ official language is French, even if there are other regional languages, furthermore,

sometimes visitors to Parish maybe cautious of attempting to speak French words and

In going around the city, the Metro is probably is the best and cheapest way to get around

Paris. There are hundred of Metro stations all over the city, and it is never very far from

make a big saving if you buy a carnet of ten tickets. Weekly and monthly Metro passes

are available and these are also valid for buses. Taxis’ rates are fixed and the light on top

of the taxi tells you which rates applies. A tip of at least 15 % is expected, especially if

you dine in any restaurants, it is polite to leave change.

Tourist information can be found at the Eiffel tower, on the Champs-Elysees, and in five

major railway stations. You can pick up all kinds of brochures, maps, and information on

these places.

Shopping in Paris is both fun and exhausting. Paris is a paradise for shoppers offering

plenty of options including high-class jewelers, designer clothing, perfumes, boutiques,

and sprawling flea markets. But you have to know where are the shops which offer lower

prices or give discounts, that way you can stretch out your money and buy more for

presents back home.

Paris is not a dangerous city but beware of pickpockets in the Metro and at tourist spots.

Make sure to leave your valuables you won’t need at your hotel. By the way, hotel prices

vary between high and low season. The high season is from May to June, and the low

season is from September to October. It maybe best to visit Paris during spring and

autumn when it is less crowded.
