Overview

Explore the unexplored in a blissful journey onboard the Indian Maharaja, one of the most legendary

luxury trains in India. The weeklong journey offered by this majestic royal Indian train can be well said to

be a phantasmal journey that makes the travelers feel the real essence of the land. The two distinct

itineraries- Delhi to Mumbai and Mumbai to Delhi- are all tailored with exclusive off-train excursion

tours to some of the majestic places of India. On its way to the tour to India, the Indian Maharaja visits

diverse destinations that include Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad,

Aurangabad and the dream city Mumbai. Chugging through the hills, plains and deserted lands of India,

Itinerary

Delhi to Mumbai

Day 1: Delhi

A warm welcome by the train authorities at a deluxe hotel in Delhi. After the greeting ceremony,

set off to a sightseeing tour to the city

Visit the glorious Old Delhi while having a tour to Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid and Red Fort. Also get a

roam to the Qutub Minar, Rashtrapati Bhawan and India Gate

At evening, board the luxurious Indian Maharaja Train from the Safdarjung Railway Station,

Delhi. Enjoy a luxurious night stay and a delicious dinner onboard, while the train proceeds

towards the city of Agra, its next destination.

Day 2: Agra

Take a delightful breakfast onboard. Visit Fatehpur Sikri en-route while proceeding towards Agra

De-board the train for an off train excursion tour to Fatehpur Sikri and witness the well

preserved architectural wonders in the city

Later, proceed towards Agra to visit one of the most marvelous Seven Wonders of the World,

the Taj Mahal

Visit Taj Mahal under the golden rays of the setting sun

Also visit the Agra Fort, which is in itself a great chapter of history that untangles many

mysteries of the Mughal Era in India

At night, return back to the train for an onward journey to the palace city Jaipur.

Day 3: Jaipur

Post breakfast, disembark the train for a tour to the great Amber Fort

After witnessing the majestic architectural and decorative artworks of Mughal and Rajputana

tradition in Amber Fort, move towards the icon of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal

After having a taste bud tempting lunch in a deluxe hotel at Jaipur, get a tour to the city while

visiting the City Palace Complex and Jantar Mantar

At evening, do some shopping from the local markets and get back to the train at night

Enjoy a fabulous dinner and a cozy sleep onboard while the train will proceed towards Sawai

Madhopur.

Day 4: Sawai Madhopur

Early morning reach Sawai Madhopur and disembark the train for a morning jungle safari to the

well known Ranthambore National Park, the home of valorous Bengal Tigers

Enjoy a fabulous breakfast and a gala lunch onboard the luxury train Indian Maharaja

At evening, set off to a jungle safari again

Savor an exclusive high-tea at the Taj Lodge

Return back to the train for dinner and an overnight stay. At night, the train starts for its next

destination Udaipur.

Day 5: Udaipur

Early morning, the train reaches the ‘City of Lake’ Udaipur, which is most famous among the

romantic couples

Drive for a sightseeing tour to the majestic city of Udaipur followed by a refreshing lunch

Visit the City Palace Udaipur which is a masterpiece of architecture in the country

Answer to the higher calling by having a roam to the Jagdish Temple

Later visit the Saheliyo ki Bari, a garden palace built by the erstwhile King of Udaipur for his

beloved Queen

Visit Jag Mandir Palace at evening and also enjoy a romantic boat ride to the tranquil lake

Your dinner will be arranged at a grand luxury hotel in Udaipur

Board the Indian Maharaja for your journey towards Ahmedabad

Day 6: Ahmedabad

Post breakfast, disembark the train for a sightseeing tours to the city of Ahmedabad

Visit the most sought after tourist places at Ahmedabad that includes Teen Darwaza built by

Sultan Ahmed, Jama Masjid, Shaking Minarets and Jain Temple

Lunch and dinner onboard the train

At night, proceed towards the next destination, Aurangabad

Day 7: Aurangabad

On the 7th day of the journey, the Indian Maharaja reaches the city of Aurangabad

Post breakfast, de-board the train for a tour to the thousands of year old Ajanta Cave

Declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site, Ajanta Caves are the bystanders of the evolution

and development of Buddhist religion in India

At afternoon, drive to the city of Aurangabad for lunch and a sightseeing tour to the city

afterwards

Also visit Biwi-Ka-Maqbara and Panchakki

Move towards Daulatabad to visit Ellora Caves, another marvelous World Herotage Site

Embark the train for an overnight stay and a majestic dinner onboard

Proceed towards the dream city Mumbai at night

Day 8: Mumbai

At morning, reach the Mumbai railway station

Savor a tempting breakfast and then do the check-out formalities
