1. Chamunda Devi Temple, Kangra

Situated on the bank of the Baner River in Kangra, the Chamunda

Devi Temple, which was constructed in the 16th century, is a

renowned ancient sacred shrine. It is notable that the Chamunda

Devi is regarded as a manifestation of Durga or Shakti. Besides

this, the temple is also regarded as the dwelling place of Shakti

and Lord Shiva. Hence, this temple is also referred to as the

Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham.

2. Naina Devi Temple, Bilaspur

Counted among the most renowned ancient temples of the

northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, the Naina Devi

Temple, which is nestled in the district of Bilaspur, is regarded as

one of 51 Shaktipeethas on Earth where the limbs of Sati fell.

With no worry for the months of cold winter, this ancient temple

is visited by a great number of devotees all the year round. The

duration of Chaitra and Ashwin Navratras, and the Shravan

3. Baijnath Temple, Palampur, Kangra

Being a well famous shrine of Lord Shiva, the Baijnath Temple,

which is situated close to Palampur within the valley of the Beas

River, is counted among the most visited Hindu temples in this

mountainous state. As per the claim of the inscription on the wall

of the temple, two merchants named Manyuka and Ahuka

constructed this great temple in the 13th century. The site of this

temple had a shrine of Lord Shiva before the construction of this

4. Jwalamukhi Temple, Kangra

Wonderfully nestled on the ridge called Kali Dhar near Kangra,

the Jwalamukhi Temple of Himachal Pradesh, which has a dome

and high pinnacles with 3 ft deep square pit in the interior

covered by pathway around it, is most renowned for the

continuously burning blue flame originating in the rock sanctum.

5. Jakhu Temple, Shimla

which is located atop the Jakhoo Hill in Shimla, the capital of the

Lord Vishnu’s idol, made of marble stones brought from the
