Why did they come??During 1944-1948 a legal racial segregation occurred in South Africa named

the Apartheid. This caused the separation of Black South Africans and Whites. With Not much of a choice a few of the Black South Africans started Fleeing. Some went to America,France and a few came to New Zealand.

Sunny skies and beautiful beaches have attracted a large amount of South African immigrants in recent years from 1999-2006.

Reasons for choosing New Zealand:

Good population

Mild climate

Familiar lifestyle

Beautiful scenery

What do you miss about South Africa??

Most South African's continuously mention the same three words “I MISS HOME”!!

A lot of them also miss speaking their home language, the celebrations, the food and also the beautiful South African scenery. But a lot of them have adapted to New Zealand life very well.

Adapting to New Zealand life.

The South African's Adapted to New Zealand life surprisingly quick because of the familiar lifestyle.

Many South African's have found jobs in New Zealand. The most common job that South African's have found working for are sport coaches. A few of the South African's faced slight racism from the Europeans in New Zealand.

Conclusion.

When I found out about the Apartheid it made me feel grateful that New Zealand is not racial in such an extreme way. The South African government back in 1944-1948 was extremely corrupt and racist. I have a friend who's from Nigeria and she lives in New Zealand, she has a few South African friends she described them as very friendly, out going, kind people in this case I hope more South African's will choose to immigrate to New Zealand.
