Govt of India has launched Smart city Mission covering 100 cites with an idea to transform them

Ministry of Urban Development is the nodal ministry for the mission

City can get Rs. 100 Crs /year for five years ascentral assistance. State/ ULBs will contributeequal amount on matching basis (50:50).

A city can get Rs 1000 crs in a 5 year period toimplement smart projects
