DESCRIPTION

In this second part of the series of talks/presentations aiming to discuss openly the multitudes of bio art | sci | tec and related practices we invited a very interesting guest from Finland, who’ll present their activities with the Finnish Society of Bioart, aswell as present their residency program in Kilpisjärvi in northern Lappland. Additionally, a special guest, Yashas Shetty (IN), Co-Founder of Hackteria, will also be present and give an overview of their activities in Bangalore, India.

What is Bioart:

Bioart is an art practice in which the medium is living matter and the works of art are produced in laboratories and/or artists' studiosreworked as laboratory.

What is Bioart:

● Originally it is deined as art which is utilizing Life science and its technologies as its media of expression.

● It is rather actual then representational

● The process often is in the foreground and object/material based

● Established artistic practices are being Updated and informed by related questions

● Becomes related to environmental art, ecological art, landart, locative media and updated in connection with contemporary information technology and media
