Jida Wang, American Chinese sculptor, born in 1935 in Beijing. 1962 graduated from Department of Sculpture of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing. 1966 moved to Mongolia, where specialized in herdsmen and horses.1977 made the statue of Mao in front of Mao’s Memorial Hall in Beijing. 1984 went with his artist wife Jin Gao (1933-2006) to New York, where among other things, he worked on a scaled-down mural of the Statue of Liberty. Member Chinese Pottery and Porcelain Art Association, Inner Mongolian Sculpture Association, Chinese Artists Association, American National Sculpture Society
