“I to the Power of We” is a phrase we hear a lot at LinkedIn.

It’s about how the individual, with the power of their team, their relationships and connections, can be successful in a

way they simply couldn’t be on their own.

It’s a value that we not only talk about – but one that I experienced in an incredibly moving way.

My Story of Transformation Started Here….

LinkedIn offered a transformation grant (up to $3,000) for something that would transform yourself, transform your family or transform your community

I applied for the grant to plan a 5K fundraiser fun run I had been planning in San Francisco for the past 10 years

– The run benefits the Fred Gabler Helping Hand Camp Fund, a non-profit hat sends underprivileged kids to camp

– Fred was a friend of mine from summer camp who was killed on 9/11– I plan the race every year to honor his memory & raise $ to send kids

to camp

I was awarded the grant!

What happened next, was beyond my wildest dreams.

I was asked to tell my story at LinkedIn’s Global Sales Kickoff event

in front of 1000 colleagues…

…and everyone was so inspired they asked me:

“How can we help?” “How can we get involved?”

“What can we do?”

and as a result…

My event went global!

“We were all Americans that day. If we can take something that was such

a tragedy & turn it into something positive –

I am here to help.”
