structure emerges spontaneously even when groups set out to be

leaderless ...”

- Mark Van Vugt, “Evolutionary Origins of Leadership and Followership” (2006)

“... research reveals that when we believe leader is the real deal ... we

are much more likely to go the extra mile and stand by them in the best and worst of times.”

“Leaders exist to create a

shift in reality.”- Michael Hyatt,

former CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishers and author of Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World

REVOLUTIONARY

“Movement marked by the regulated succession of strong and weak elements or of opposite or

different conditions”

- The Compact Edition of the Oxford English Dictionary IIOxford University Press 1971. p. 2537.

“All forms of life on earth, including our bodies, respond rhythmically to

the regular cycles of the sun, moon, and seasons.”

- William C. Shiel Jr., MD, FACP, FACR

The suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) plays a role in the circadian system by triggering a neuroendocrine response in the hypothalamus, which

then acts on the pituitary. This last pathway profoundly influences other parts of the body, including the endocrine, immune, cardiovascular, and

urinary systems. Rhythms in most of these systems have a simple waveform similar to that of body temperature, which is highest in the early evening and lowest right before waking in the morning. A plot of urine volume, for example, shows a cyclic pattern very similar to that of

the body's temperature. Some of the hormones thought to be influenced by the circadian system

are growth hormone, prolactin, thyrotropin, and testosterone. One endocrine event clearly under the influence of the clock is the release of the hormone ACTH. The SCN triggers the hypothalamus, which activates

the anterior pituitary to release ACTH, causing the adrenal glands to release cortisol and aldosterone. A plot of cortisol concentration in blood plasma shows a characteristic peak in the very early morning (around 6

AM) with a trough right before bedtime. Similarly, aldosterone level is constantly high throughout the night and low throughout the day.

The Genius of the “And”

“A truly visionary company embraces both ends of a continuum: continuity and

change, conservativism and progressiveness, stability and revolution, predictability and chaos, heritage and renewal, fundamentals and craziness.

And, and, and.”
