NIGERIAN ARTIFACTS

TAGBO ALEX

INTRODUCTION Nigeria's art dates back a long time, over

2000 years by some archeological beliefs. The Nok Terracotta and the Igbo Ukwu are

examples of some excavations that have been discovered by archeologists to indicate a highly developed artistic and technologically based civilization.

The Nok art for instance, has many images made from iron-smelting.

Today, art in Nigeria includes a wide range of exhibits with various displays.

SPECIFIC LOCATIONS

THE BASIC SCULPTURE PROCESSES Carving: The sculptor removes unwanted

material to create the form. This is also called subtractive sculpture.

Modeling: The sculptor creates a form by building it up from an amorphous lump of plastic material. This is also called additive sculpture.

Assembly (or construction): The sculptor joins prefabricated elements as in welded metal constructions. This is also additive sculpture.

Market for artifacts in Nigeria 10,000 people are indirectly involved in the

production of artifacts.

The market of artifacts in nigeria is excessively low and the rate of profit margin is less .

Hence i plan to export this artifacts to Germany as there is excessive production of artifacts in the Nigerian market.

Study of german market for sale of handmade artifacts

The demand for artifacts in Germany is

relatively high.

In some homes where the beauty of artifacts

is appreciated, old ones could be discaded

and replaced with new artifacts to bring out

the beauty.

MARKETING STRATEGYGermany is the largest market for artifacts in

Europe.
