DESIGN (e UX)Cosa (?)

ICSID 2016“Industrial Design is a strategic problem-solving process that drives innovation, builds business success, and leads to a better quality of life through innovative products, systems, services, and experiences. Industrial Design bridges the gap between what is and what’s possible.

It is a trans-disciplinary profession that harnesses creativity to resolve problems and co-create solutions with the intent of making a product, system, service, experience or a business, better. At its heart, Industrial Design provides a more optimistic way of looking at the future by reframing problems as opportunities. It links innovation, technology, research, business, and customers to provide new value and competitive advantage across economic, social, and environmental spheres.”

DA DOVE VIENE?[UX]

Lo user-centered design

PROGETTARE PARTENDO DALL’OSSERVAZIONE DELLA GENTE NON E’ NIENTE DI NUOVO

PERCHE’ E’ IMPORTANTE ?

[UX]

IL TERMINE INTERACTION DESIGN INDICA QUELLA FASE PROGETTUALE CHE SI OCCUPA DI DISEGNARE LA USER EXPERIENCE: E L’ARTE DI FACILITARE LE INTERAZIONI FRA ESSERI UMANI ATTRAVERSO PRODOTTI E SERVIZI, E FRA GLI ESSERI UMANI ED I PRODOTTI/SERVIZI STESSI.

(B. MOGGRIDGE, IDEO 1990)

PERCHE’ E’ INTERESSANTE ?

[UX]

_ AUMENTA IL PUBBLICO DI UTENTI (ACQUISITION)_ FACILITA LE CONVERSIONI DEGLI UTENTI (ACTIVATION)_ FAVORISCE IL RITORNO DEGLI UTENTI (RETENTION)_ CAPITALIZZA I PROFITTI DEL SERVIZIO (REVENUE)_ INCENTIVA LA CONDIVISIONE DEL SERVIZIO (REFERRAL)

But “grow the business” does not equal “grow the business at the expense of the user.” In fact, Growth and User Experience can, and should, go hand in hand. How does that work? Well, it helps that engagement is one of the key metrics of Growth, and good user experience is almost synonymous with high engagement. If a product is easy to use and actually helpful, users will use it. If users begin to use the product regularly, they will also stay. And then, if they find real value in it, maybe they will pay as well!
