Schedule

• We will have busses to practice every day, leaving the school at 2:20

• If you won’t be at practice, PLEASE let us know as soon as possible

• Schedule is always subject to change• Must be in school all day to practice

Morning Practice

• Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15 am for at least the first few weeks of the season

• Not mandatory

Meet Hosting

• December 3, 2013 3:45– Sprint Relay at Trollhaugen

• Need parent help for timing

Varsity Team

• World Cup Points System– 1st – 100 points, 2nd – 80 points, 3rd – 60

points, 4th – 50 points, 5th – 45 points, 40, 36, 32,29,26,24,22,20,18,16,15,14,13,12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1

– Total points from two most recent races will determine varsity for next race.

– Removes as much subjectivity as possible.

Lettering Requirements

• Four year member of team• Qualify for state (individual or as a team)• Top 1/2 (~top 40) at section meet• Coaches discretion

General Team Rules

• Be on time to practice and/or meets (ready to go at the scheduled time, don’t show up when we are supposed to be leaving/starting practice)

• Always represent yourself, your team, and your school in the best way possible

• If you are not in school on a given day without an excuse, you can’t practice/race that day.

skiing, etc.

Parents

• We encourage parental participation– Booster Club– Make sure athletes are

resting/hydrating/eating properly– Help at practices

• We are still the coaches• Talk to Bob Madison about steps to become a legal

volunteer assistant (background check, etc.)

Chemical Use, Harassment, and Hazing (District Policies)

• 1st Violation – loss of eligibility for the next three meets or three weeks of season (whichever is greater), referred to school chemical education counselor, lose right to be captain

• 2nd Violation – loss of eligibility for the next nine meets or nine weeks of season (whichever is greater, referred to school chemical education counselor, lose right to be captain

• 3rd Violation – loss of eligibility for next 12 months

Chemical Use, Harassment, and Hazing (Team Policy)

• Zero tolerance– If you’re caught, you’re done for the year.

Period.– Be careful what you post on Facebook.

Everyone can see it and we will confront you about it if we see something questionable.
