4-H NEWS Information for Clay County 4-H Families and Friends
Sarah Morefield
4-H Youth Development Specialist
MAY 2017
Hello Fabulous 4-H Families,
Summer is weeks away – camp and fair are in the works and on top of that…so many introductions to be had!
I have sent emails to many club leaders, volunteers and our senior 4-Her’s introducing myself and began my tour of Clay County 4-H Clubs last night (thank you Town and Country and Happy Northeasterners for letting me stop by your meeting!). If I have not met you yet, please know that I am excited to do so and making my way to your club. My name is Sarah Morefield and I am your new 4-H Specialist. While I am new to Extension professionally, I grew up in the 4-H program and have been working in education for 6 years and youth development through camp for 13 years. I am originally from St. Louis, but moved around when I was little and spent quite a bit of time growing up in Overland Park, KS. After going to Indianapolis for college, I made my way back to St. Louis and am excited to be back in KC close to family and my camp, but in the Northland where I have new things to explore! 4-H has made a huge impact on my life and many of the people I am closest to now came from my 4-H community, so I am so excited to be working for this organization and with you all. Please reach out with any questions you have about me and I look forward to meeting you all! Sincerely, Sarah
4-H COUNCIL MEETING DATE CHANGE Due to 4-H Camp dates, the date for the Clay County 4-H Council meeting has been changed to Monday, June 12. Club leaders and delegates - please make a note of this date.
COUNTYWIDE PROJECT LEADERS Are you willing to be one of the amazing volunteers who help youth with projects? It takes about 5 hours per month, and no experience or project-knowledge required! You can learn alongside your project members and coordinate a series of guest speakers or community classes.
If you are leading a countywide project this year, and your name or project is not on this list, please contact us immediately so we can let 4-H members know you are out there to help them and we can grant you access to countywide project member information in 4HOnline!
