RAJOURI: The District Development CommissionerRajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Friday order suspen-sion of an Executive Officer, attachment of a BlockMedical Officer and withholding salaries of 30 officials ofhealth department. Meanwhile explanations have beenasked from CMO, BMO Nowshera, Sunderbani, Darhal,Kalakote and Manjakote for their failure to instil disci-pline and punctuality of officials in health institutionsworking under their control.
The EO Municipality Sunderbani was suspended inbackdrop of his absence from a meeting held under chair-manship of DDC Rajouri to review the arrangements forsuccessful completion of Budha Amarnath Yatra. In spiteof explicit directions from district administration for notleaving station without prior permission, the said officerwas out of station without any intimation to administra-tion and failed to attend the Yatra meeting.
The DDC also ordered attachment of BDO Darhal inview of various complaints received during public meetingheld at Darhal on July 19, 2018 regarding paymentsunder MGNREGA. Pertinently the said BlockDevelopment Officer skipped the meeting during reviewof achievements of RDD by the DDC.
The salaries of 30 employees of Health Departmentposted in PHCs and Health Sub-centres which werefound locked during surprised inspections by the admin-istration on July 10, 2018 and July 18, 2018 were alsowithheld as part of stringent actions to discourage absen-teeism in government institutions. Additional DeputyCommissioner is appointed as inquiry officer and expla-nation are called from all these employees
It's worth mentioning here that instructions have beenissued to all controlling officers/DDOs to regularly mon-itor attendance in their own and subordinate offices espe-cially in remote areas for effective delivery of essentialservices.
Two rape accused amongthree absconders arrested
STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI : Three persons, including two rape accused,were on Friday arrested in separate operations in Rajouridistrict, police said.
As per the details, a team of police headed by SHODarhal Habib Pathan arrested an absconder namelyMohd Qasim son of Atta Mohd resident of Pargal Darhalwho was evading arrest in case FIR No 52/2016 undersection 376/366/458/343/147/323 RPC of Police StationDarhal. Accused was arrested from Somwali Dhok locat-ed on higher reaches of Darhal.
Another police team headed by SHO Manjakote AjazHaider also nabbed one absconder namely Mohd Qayoomson of Mohd Rafiq resident of Bata Dhurian in Mendharwho was involved in case vide FIR No 5/2013 under sec-tion 376/363/109 RPC of Police Station Manjakote. Thesaid accused person was absconding for the last fiveyears.
Another accused namely Mukhtar Ahmed wanted incase vide FIR No.38/2014 under section 366/376/341 ofPolice Station Gursai District Poonch was also arrestedfrom Panja Chowk Rajouri yesterday evening by a teamheaded by SI Ajaz Mirza of Police Station Rajouri. Thesaid accused was evading his arrest since 2014 and hismovement was reported in Rajouri town after which teamof the police station laid a trap and managed to appre-hend him.

According to report, a passenger auto (JK02AW- 1897)hit by Swift Desire (JK02AQ- 4331) on JammuPathankot National Highway at Kartholi near Indian OilGas Plant resulting in nine passengers getting injurieswho were shifted to Government Medical College andHospital Jammu for treatment. Police has taken cogni-sance in the matter and started investigation.

UDHAMPUR/SAMBA: Police on Friday traced girl anda woman who went missing from Rehmble and Sambarespectively.
According a reports, on July 19, 2018 family membersof a girl lodged a missing report with Police StationRehmbal that their daughter went missing since July 19,2018. Over it, a team of Police Post Ghordi comprisingof SI Parshotam Sharma along with Const. Rattan Singh, Shamsher Singh led by SHO Rakesh Singh under thesupervision of Dy SP Jagdev Singh Slathia conductedraids at different suspected locations and traced the girlfrom Bus Stand Ramban.
She was brought back to Police Post Ghordi and hand-ed over to her family after proper legal procedure.

Reports said that an information was received at PoliceStation Bari Brahmana that one woman has been roam-ing in the village Shahen Talab. Acting on the informa-tion, a party of Police Station Bari Brahmana reachedthe area and traced the staid woman who brought safe-ly at Police Station Bari Brahmana. On questioning, shedisclosed her that she is resident of Harni TehsilMendhar District Poonch. SHO Police Station BariBrahmana after contacting his counterpart at PoliceStation Mendhar, found that the said woman was missingfrom her home and a missing report stands registered atPolice Station Mendhar. The said missing woman laterwas handed over to Mandhar Police accompanied by herfamily members at Police Station Bari Brahmana afterproper verification.

KATHUA: Police on Friday arrested a drug peddler andrecovered 8 grams of heroin from his possession.
As per the details, SHO Police Station KathuaInspector Amit Sangra seized 8 grams of heroin duringpatrolling near Sunil Choudhary Chowk Kathua ParvaizAhmed Bhat son of Abdul Kabir Bhat resident ofAnantnag. He was arrested and a case vide FIR no269/18 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registeredagainst him.
STATE TIMES NEWS VIJAYPUR: Farmers onFriday held a protest demon-stration against the adminis-tration for not providing themelectricity supply and canalwater in the border villagemaking their lives miserable.The farmers held a protestdemonstration outside the SubDivisional Magistrate (SDM)Vijaypur demanding uninter-rupted electricity supply andcanal water in tale end villagealong the International Border.
"We are not receiving supplyof electricity regularly and onlyget it two hours thus we cannotuse water pumps for irrigationof fields in border villages" saidManjit Singh, former Ministerand JKPCC GeneralSecretary. He said that thepeople in border villages havebeen suffering badly and theadministration has turnedblind eye towards it. "We havewarned the administrationincluding ADC and DC Sambawhile appraising them aboutthe problems being faced by
the farmers. They haveassured us that those will beresolved," said Manjit Singh,former Minister.
He further said that the outof 24 hours, the electricity isprovided to the border resi-dents for only two hours whichis totally in adequate. "Whenthey are paying all the electric-ity bills, why cannot they enjoyround the clock electricity?" hequestioned. He added that thecanal water supply has similarsituation and the tale-end vil-lages have been facing neglectand the farmers are left at themercy of God.
Meanwhile, he further high-lighted lack of infrastructureand improper road connectivityfor the border villages. Citingan example, he said, theVijaypur - Ramgarh road(Samba District) is in shabbycondition and the concerneddepartment is not botheredabout it. "The road is in badcondition. Commuters cannotply vehicles on this roads," hesaid, while appraising theadministration. He also threat-ened that if the demands of thefarmers are not accepted, theywill come on the roads for theiracceptance.

STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: DistrictDevelopment CommissionerMohammad Aijaz Asad onFriday reviewed and finalisedarrangements for smoothconduct of Budha AmarnathYatra commencing fromAugust 17, here at a meetingof officers and representa-tives of religious organisa-tions.
The meeting had a detaileddeliberation on the arrange-ments for smooth and suc-cessful conduct of Yatra. Allthe officers were asked toensure that arrangementsrelating to their respectivedepartments are put in placewell in time.
Arrangements like ade-quate supply of drinkingwater, cleanliness of thevenue, construction of tem-porary sheds for communitykitchens and Langars, rationand LPG supply, securityarrangements, transportarrangements, maintenanceof road, fire extinguishers,
medical facilities etc weredeliberated upon in detailand the concerned officerswere asked to ensure all thesefacilities well before com-mencement of the Yatra.
A traffic management planwas discussed for hassle freemovement of Yatris enroutefrom Sunderbani to BhimberGali. It was decided that suf-ficient number of traffic copsand recovery vans will bedeployed at Sunderbani andRajouri to check wrong park-ing of vehicles.
For the security of Yatris,cut off time was fixed beyondwhich no vehicle of Yatris willbe allowed to move towardsPoonch.
As thousands of Yatris areexpected to visit BudhaAmarnath from within andoutside the State, the DDCdirected the officers ofTourism, Handicrafts,Handlooms, Horticultureand AgricultureDepartments to put up stallsfor showcasing local touristdestination and products.

UDHAMPUR: Residents of village Khoon in Tehsil Majalta helda protest against Block Medical Officer (BMO) Majalta in ordershow their resentment against the Health Department whichfailed to ensure services of the doctors and other duty bound para-medical staff members at PHC Khoon. Locals assembled at vil-lage Khoon and held a protest against the BMO for not payingserious attention towards their problems. Problem erupted overroad accident in which a local girl got critically injured on DharRoad in the morning. Protestors alleged that while criticallyinjured girl was shifted to PHC Khoon, none of the doctors andparamedical staff was found on duty. Irked over it, people cameon the road and blocked the road to disrupt traffic movement.Protestors raised slogans against BMO and higher ups of thedepartment for ignoring their genuine demand to ensure healthcare services to the people. After protest SHO Majalta along withpolice reached the spot and pacified the protesters.
