Letter of RecommendatioJI for Mr. ⅠIiroaki Oikawa

It is a great pleasure to recommend MrL Hiroaki Oikawa to your renowned program.

When Mr. Oikawa belonged to the School of Letters at Senshu Universityhe participated in the seminar that I

conducted &om his 2nd year to the 4th year. This seminar majors irlthe history of Japan inthe Edo period. He

eamestly attended my seminar class for 3 years without being absent. Fur血er, he engaged in the seminar campsthat

were held every year during the summer vacation and made research presentations.

hthe 4thyear at university, Mr・ Oikawa wrote a graduation thesis based on thetheme of worship climbing the Mt・

Fuji inthe Edo period and the accommodation facilities・ Asthe number of climbers to Mt. Fuji has increased, the

residents inthe surrounding area of the mountain climbing path have enteredthe tourism business by targeting the

climbers, and this thesis clarified how the conflicts have increased between religious leaders who manage

accommodation facilities. This work was highly evaluated as a graduationthesis.

While majoring in the history of Japan, he had a great curiositytowards new languages and unknown cultures. h

the spring vacation in the lst year, he participated in a Spanish language program at Barcelona Universityand

achievedthe A2 level of DELL in the following year. Even after he started the 4th year at university, he began the

study of Korean Language.

According to my observations inthe seminar class and graduation thesis guidance, Mr. Oikawa has a personality

that canunderstand the surrounding circumstances well. I canevaluate that he is a person who has outstanding task

execution skills to make e肋rts steadily towards the established goal.

If he gainsthe opportunityto participate in your program, I believe that it would be a great initial step for him to

contribute to the societyas an expert in tourismwi10 has bothknOwledge of Japanese culture and intemational

perspectives.

Due to these reasons, I wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Oikawa for your favorable consideration.

Sincerely,

高級痛Yasushi Nishizaka
