Wendell Witham, age 97, ofJamestown, died Monday,January 16, 2012 at Fair OaksNursing Home in Jamestown.Born December 22, 1914 inRussell County, he was the sonof the late Thomas JoshuaWitham and Francis (Archie)Witham.

He was also preceded in deathby his wife, Emma Ann OliverWitham and one daughter, AnnaFaye Fisher.

Mr. Witham was a farmer andmember of the RockhouseChristian Church.

Survivors include one daugh-ter, Vida (Phillip) Withers ofNorwood, Ohio; one son, Shelby

(Wanda) Witham of Cincinnati,Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and ahost of great-grandchildren.

The funeral was Friday,January 20, 2012, 1:00 p.m., atBernard Funeral Home Chapel,with Bro. Carroll Egnew andBro. Hugh Withers officiating.

Special music was presentedby Brent and Brandy Thompson.

Pallbearers were Gary Withers,Lowell Cummings, DonaldWitham, Kenneth Witham, RickPerkins and Roger Witham.

Interment was in the FreedomCemetery nearJamestown.Bernard FuneralHome, Russell Springs, was incharge of arrangements.

Schuyler D. McGaha, age 88,of Liberty Road, Columbia,passed away Wednesday

January 18, 2012 at SummitManor Health and RehabCenter, Columbia.

He was born October 21,1923 in Adair County, and wasthe son of the late Alfred andMattie Williams McGaha.

Survivors include his wife of65 years, Barbara J. BryantMcGaha of Columbia; two sons,Senator Vernie McGaha andwife Connie of Russell Springs,and Darryl McGaha ofColumbia; a daughter, DeniseGlanzer of Campbellsville; asister, Maxine McGaha ofCampbellsville; four grandchil-dren, Brian McGaha and wifeJeannie, Susan Popplewell andhusband Tim, Jennifer Houkand husband John and BrandonGlanzer and wife Megan; fivegreat-grandchildren, LukePopplewell, Braxton Glanzer,Bryant Glanzer, Skyler Houk

and Taylor Houk; special care-givers, Gary Lawless, PatsyKemp and Barbara Jones; sever-al nieces, nephews and a host ofother relatives and friends.

He was a member of NewHope Separate Baptist Church,and a field representative forSouthern Wood Piedmont Co.He was an original quartetmember of the CrossroadsQuartet which was formed in1960, singing in churches andgospel singings locally, in sur-rounding counties and otherstates and was a veteran ofWorld War II. He was a mem-ber of the Adair Gideon Camp.

Funeral services were heldSaturday, January 21, 2012 atthe New Hope Separate BaptistChurch in Columbia with Bro.David Coffey and Bro. BrandonGlanzer officiating.

Pallbearers were BrianMcGaha, Brandon Glanzer, TimPopplewell, John Houk, TravisBryant and Ronnie McGaha.

Honorary pallbearers wereRandy Wooldridge, DavePowell, Lucian Ware, JimmyMcGaha, Gary Lawless, PatsyKemp and Barbara Jones.

Interment was in New HopeCemetery with full MilitaryHonors by local VFW Post6097.

She was preceded in deathby a son, Roger Glenn Grant inMay 2011 and two brothers,John and Collin Hill.

Mrs. Grant was a member ofthe Fairview Separate BaptistChurch and was retired fromBorg Warner auto assemblyplant in Belwood, Illinois.

Jamestown, died Sunday,January 15, 2012 at AudubonHospital in Louisville. BornJuly 25, 1949 in Tipton, Indiana,he was a son of the late HaroldE. Rikard, Sr. and Helen Louise(Edwards).

He was also preceded in deathby one brother, Harold E.Rikard, Jr.

He was the former owner ofSomerset Oil and MerrylandRoller Rink in Jamestown.

Survivors include two sons,Cliff Rikard of Kokomo, IN andBrandon Rikard of RussellSprings; two daughters,Amanda Rikard Phelps andJulie Rikard, both of

Jamestown; one brother, RandyRikard of Wwalton, IN; onegrandson, Matthew Rikard; andtwo granddaughters, AmyMcQueary and JulannaMcQueary.

The funeral was Wednesday,January 18, 2012, 1:00 p.m., atH.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel.
