9. Make an AutoCAD drawing of a standard basketball court. Do not draw the dimensions, just the lines. - Call the file "Your Name Basketball Court.dwg"

10. Make Basketball Arena Floor Plan Open your file "Your Name Basketball Court.dwg" and add walls (thick lines) and labels for:

a. Seat Outline walls b. Four sets of External Doorsc. Ticket Booth Room d. Locker Roomse. Rest Rooms f. Concession Standsg. Office Room h. Maintenance Room (Note: make the rooms different colors)

11. Make Basketball Arena Section View - Save your file as: "Your Name Basketball Section.dwg"

12. Make Basketball Arena Elevation View - Add a gradient hatch over your section view. - Add doors. - Save your file as: "Your Name Basketball Elevation.dwg"

13. Make a ground sheet for the model. - Copy “Your Name ground sheet.dwg” from the Student Common >STILLEY folder to your student ID folder. - INSERT your files to the model tab. - Save your file as: " Your Name ground sheet.dwg"

14. Adjust the size of each drawing in the Viewports.

15. Make a folder to hold your model pieces during construction.

16. Trim the corners of your “Your Name ground sheet” printout & tape to the foam core board.

17. Choose 1 of 6 color schemes for your Geodesic Dome.

“A” – 30 Red Straws, 35 Blue Straws“B” – 30 Blue Straws, 35 Red Straws“C” – 30 Yellow Straws, 35 Orange Straws“D” – 30 Orange Straws, 35 Yellow Straws“E” – 30 Purple Straws, 35 Green Straws“F” – 30 Green Straws, 35 Purple Straws

Use Sharpie to put the Letter you choose on your clear bag.

18. Cut the lengths of:

26 Pieces of Red Wire

30 ShortStraws

35 LongStraws

19. Punch holes in both ends of all straws:

Make sure the holes are lined up together

20. Connect the straws together with the pieces of wire

a. Wrap the wire around a pencil

b. Start with connection #1 & count the number of colored straws that connect at point #1

c. Slide the straws over the wire ends

d. Bend the wires down

e. Slide the pencil out

21. IMPORTANT ! Assemble the dome by going in order from point 1, 2, 3, 4 … 26

Between point 1 & point 2 put a piece of tape on the straw. Write YOUR NAME& PERIOD # on it.

22. Cut out the SEAT shapes from the poster board

Only cut the solid lines.

DON’T cut the dashed lines!

23. Tape the edges of the seat pattern together

24. Insert the seat tabs through the slots and tape on the backside. (Mr. Stilley will cut the slots)

25. Mount Geodesic dome to foam core board with tape

Tape at least 3 places
