OBJECTIVE

My primary incentive, as I advance myself within my current college studies, is to acquire new skills that will allow me to obtain a

rewarding and successful career as a Registered Nurse (RN). In hopes of satisfying my aspirations, I am in active pursuit of obtaining a degree in Allied Health, as well as seeking job positions within the medical field to guide me as I learn and assist me in gaining more experience. As a medical

Medical Assistant

Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them and guiding them to exam room; beginning patient triage and casually conversing with patient to offer personal and comforting experience. Handling Physician’s administrative responsibilities, such as answering to provider’s

voicemail messages, responding to medication refill request, and various other urgent tasks.

Prepares patients for physician’s examination by performing preliminary interviews; Using EMR systems for recording patient records and demographic information (with personal experience using e-clinical, Intergy, Intergy EHR, and All-scripts Clinical); Recording and updating

medical history summary as well as confirming active medication list; verifying purpose of visit and reporting new concerns, chief

complaints, and significant medical history updates to physician, prior to physician’s entrance of the exam room.

Takes blood pressure, pulse, oxygen intake levels, weight, and temperature; recording vitals into patient progress note during preliminary

interview; Recording patient summary updates and changes discovered during interview as it is being performed.

Uses a needle and syringe to draw up medication for trigger point injections; Assisting physicians during office procedures by preparing supplied and equipment such as an ultrasound machine, exam tables, patient gowns/pillows, alcohol prep, goas, and band aids; Applying

cold spray on injection site to reduce pain as physician inserts needle; Capturing ultrasound images of needle placement while physician

performs procedure; cleaning exam rooms following each procedure or appointment.

Counsels patients by relaying physician's orders and answering questions about upcoming appointments or surgeries; printing p rescriptions as advised by the physicians and receiving provider signatures before delivering to patients.

Schedules surgeries and appointments with the patient and notifying patients on proper pre-op preparation; verifying appointment dates and times with patients; preparing patient charts upon arrival for scheduled appointments, ordering lab and serum testing for pat ients during

appointments and collecting urine samples to perform drug screening; Printing informational letters for patients and explaining content of

consent forms for procedures, labs, or serum testing; successfully obtain signatures of consent from patients.

Dispenses medications to patients in office and printing medication labels with instructions; Recording all medications being dispensed to patient and delivering directly to patients during their appointment; Keeps dispensed medications readily available by count ing medication

inventory currently in stock; placing orders for medications that are running low on supply, or that are out of stock; verify ing receipt of

shipment to verify correct order has been received; Properly organizing medications in storage for future dispensing.

❖ Reviewed and input data such as patient demographics and current insurance information; scanned documents into EMR system and

imported records through DeKalb Portal account to include within patient’s chart; sending faxes to various referring providers such as

referral letters or requests for medical records.
