Amendment II

• Right to bear arms (have guns)

Amendment III

• Keeping troops in private homes (not required to quarter soldiers)

Amendment IV

• Search and Seizure: Must have probable cause and get a search warrant in order to search someone’s property (including cars and homes)

Amendment V

• Rights of a person accused of a crime. You are allowed to “plead the 5th” to avoid self-incrimination. You do not have to confess to crimes!

• Rights to a fair and speedy trial for people accused of a crime

Amendment VII

• Trial by jury in civil suits

Amendment VIII

• Bail and Punishment: No “cruel and unusual” punishments!
