ITALY–EGYPT JOINT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY COOPERATION
CALL FOR JOINT PROJECT PROPOSALS
The framework of the Scientific and Technological Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Italy and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt FUNDING SCHEMES
1-“Exchange of Researchers” are joint research projects where only the expenses for researchers’ mobility are funded 2-Of Particular Relevance” are joint research projects where research ac-tivities are co-founded by one or both Parties. In this scheme a significant funding contribution by the applying proponent is mandatory.

• Energy and Environment (including rational use of water resources and de-salination)
• Health, Biotechnology and Medicine
• Nanosciences and Advanced Materials

the STDF Board of Directors has approved the launching of an open new fund-ing mechanism on a competitive basis, to Support of Scientific Events (STDF-SSE), with the aim of providing universities and scientific research institutions with financial support for holding seminars, forums, workshops, training cours-es & conferences. With this grant, STDF supports both the human resources capacity building and the dissemination of information on science and technolo-gy in Egypt, both of which are main components of STDF's mandate.

TWAS Prizes
Atta-ur-Rahman Prize in Chemistry
This annual award, sponsored by TWAS Fellow Atta-ur-Rahman, is given to a chemist under the age of 40 who lives and works in developing country, especially a scientifically lagging country. The prize is worth USD 4,000. Winners are invited to attend the TWAS General Meeting and present a paper on their work. Deadline : 15 July 2015
The C.N.R. Rao Prize for Scientific Research
The prize, named after TWAS Founding Fellow and former presi-dent C.N.R. Rao, carries a cash award of USD4,000 generously provided by Professor Rao. It is designed to honour TWAS Fellows from the developing world, especially scientists from the world's scientifically lagging and Least Developed Countries (LDCs), who have made significant contributions to global science. New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS) for International Students,
2015-2016
Applications are invited for the 2015 round of the New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS). The NZIDRS are open for international students (except from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji) to undertake PhD study at a New Zealand university. In order to receive the scholarship, applicants must meet the requirements for direct entry into a PhD programme at a New Zealand University. The NZIDRS provides full tuition fees plus a living stipend for up to 36 months.
Scholarships are awarded in any discipline.
Scholarships are available to undertake PhD study at any of New Zealand’s eight Universities: AUT University, Lincoln University, Massey University, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, University of Otago, University of Waikato, Victoria University of Wellington.
Deadline: The application deadline is 15 July 2015.

Monash University Malaysia is calling for scholarship application for 2014 intake. The campus will be offering Cost of Living Allowances (stipend) and/or Tuition Fee Waiver scholarships to outstanding and deserving candidates.

2016-2017 CAS Sofia Advanced Academia Fellowship Pro-
gramme for International Scholars, Bulgaria
The Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (CAS Sofia) is offering international fellowships to pursue individual research projects during in-residence periods of up to five months. These fellowships are awarded for fundamental research in the fields of the humanities and the social sciences. The selected Fellows will take part in the regular Fellow seminars and the other scientific events organized by the Centre (workshops, conferences, lectures, etc.) and are invited to present and discuss their project in lectures or seminars. The Fellows will also have free access to the CAS library and electronic resources/databases.
Fellowships are awarded in the fields of humanities and social sciences.

Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program, 2015
The U.S. Department of Agriculture invites applications for Borlaug Fellowship Program available for fellows from eligible developing and middle-income countries. Applicants are selected based on their academic and professional research interests and achievements, level of scientific competence, aptitude for scientific research, leadership potential, likelihood of bringing back new ideas to their home institution, and flexibility and aptitude for success in a cross-cultural environment. The U.S. mentor will later visit the fellow’s home institution to continue collaboration. Fellows may also attend the annual World Food Prize Symposium, held each October in Des Moines, Iowa.
Fellowships are awarded for research and training focused on a
wide array of agriculture-related topics, including agronomy, veter-inary science, nutrition, food safety, sanitary and phytosanitary is-
sues, natural resource management, agricultural biotechnology,
global climate change, agricultural economics and agricultural poli-
