THE CALL TO WORSHIP
Minister: I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the
house of the Lord!” Our feet have been standing within
your gates, O Jerusalem! (Psalm 122:1-2)
People: For a day in your courts is better than a thousand
elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my
God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. (Psalm 84:10)
Minister: For the sake of the house of the Lord our God; I will
seek your good. (Psalm 122:9)
People: They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in
the courts of our God. (Psalm 92:13)
Minister: O Lord, I love the habitation of your house, and the
place where your glory dwells. (Psalm 26:8)
People: But the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep
silence before him. (Habakkuk 2:20)
Minister: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my
heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and
my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
People: O sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done
marvelous things! I will sing of loyalty and of justice, to you,
O Lord, I will sing. (Psalm 98:1,4)
THE HYMN OF PRAISE
KING OF MY LIFE—AME HYMNAL #306
1. King of my life, I crown Thee now, Thine shall the glory be; Lest I
forget Thy thorn-crowned brow, Lead me to Calvary.
REFRAIN: Lest I forget Gethsemane; Lest I forget Thine agony; Lest
I forget Thy love for me, Lead me to Calvary.
2. Show me the tomb where Thou was laid, Tenderly mourned and
wept; Angels in robes of light arrayed Guarded Thee whilst Thou
slept.
~~REFRAIN~~
3. Let me like Mary, through the gloom, Come with a gift to Thee;
Show to me now the empty tomb, Lead me to Calvary.
THE HYMN OF PRAISE (CONTINUED)
~~REFRAIN~~
4. May I be willing, Lord, to bear Daily my cross for Thee; Even
Thy cup of grief to share, Thou hast borne all for me.
~~REFRAIN~~
THE SCRIPTURE LESSON PSALM 121
Minister: 1 I lift up my eyes to the hills-- from where will my help
come? 2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and
earth.
People: 3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not
slumber. 4 He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
Minister: 5 The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your
right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by
night.
All: 7 The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
8 The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from
this time on and forevermore.
THE PREFACE OF THE DECALOGUE
From all that dwell below the skies, let the Creator’s praise arise; let the Redeemer’s name be sung, through every land by
every tongue.
THE SUMMARY OF THE DECALOGUE
And Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great
and first commandment. And the second is like it, you shall love your
neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the
law and the prophets.
THE GLORIA PATRI
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen, Amen.
