Classroom Job Descriptions

This year each student will be required to work a job in the classroom and will get paid in classroom money each Friday. Students will have the choice of saving or spending their money in the store. Students will have to pay “rent” on the first of each month and will need to make sure they have saved the money over the month. Students will also have the opportunity to save up their money and buy their desk and no longer pay rent or buy someone else’s desk and charge rent! Please read over each job and its duties carefully. You will have the opportunity to apply for your top 3 jobs

Calendar *Homeroom Only

• pay: $20 a week• changes the days on the calendar• graphs weather and counts how many

days• changes calendar to new month when

needed

Geek Squad -2

• pay: $20 a week• will turn on and off computers daily -

*Homeroom only• Will straighten up computer area each day• Will get out and put away Ipads –

*Homeroom only• Make sure Ipads are put back in the right place• Make sure Ipads are charged – charge if at 20%

or lower

Target Math *Homeroom Only

• pay: $20 a week• change the board to show daily Math

problems each morning

Furniture Supervisor -2*Homeroom Only

• pay: $20 a week• makes sure desk are in proper place• unstack chairs every morning and puts

them in proper places• stack chairs at the end of the day

Lunch/Attendance Monitor *Homeroom Only

• pay: $20 a week• make sure each student selects a lunch

choice• take lunch count to cafeteria 8:15• check attendance daily and records on sheet • reports absences to teacher at 9:30AM

when the bell rings

Line Leader *mostly 2nd class

• pay: $20 a week• will line up first • lead the line down the hallway• Stop at the correct stopping places• be a good example at all times in line

Door Guard *Mostly 2nd Class

• pay: $20 a week• opens, holds, and closes the door

silently as the class comes and goes• after holding door will be at the end of

the line

ex: going to lunch, coming in at recess

Cleaning Crew -2• pay: $25 a week• in charge of making sure our room stays

clean• encourages students to pick up trash

under desks• picks up trash around room at the end

of the class/day

Paper Passer • pay: $20 a week• silently hands out papers to students

when asked by teacher

Paper Collector• pay: $20 a week• collects papers silently from each table• Neatly places papers in correct area

Energy Experts • pay: $20 a week• line up second to last in line• turn off lights as we leave the room or

any other time the teacher asks

Supply Clerk • pay: $20 week• passes out and picks up supplies when

needed• makes sure supplies are organized and

neat• sharpens pencils each morning and

afternoon

Board Eraser • pay $20 a week• erasers the board at the end of class,

when needed

Lunch Carriers – 2 *2nd Class only

• pay $20 a week• carries lunch basket to lunch and back to

room

Photographer• pay: $20 a week• takes 1-3 pictures daily with IPAD• takes pictures of students doing

math and science work• need to see students faces and

their work

Station Assistant• pay: $20 a week• takes materials to each station• end of stations makes sure materials are

organized and neat

Substitute• pay: $20 a week• does the job of an absent student

Supervisor• pay: $20 a week• helps other students with their job if

teacher asks• might remind students to do their job• pays students each Friday

Homework Checker• pay: $20 a week• recorded who has completed

homework on chart• if time quickly checks homework

Teacher Helper• pay: $20 a week• will take notes etc. to the office or other

classrooms• assist teachers
