Strengthening of DPC, Madhubani

Objectives

The overall objectives of the projects are: District Planning Committee of district

(Madhubani) anchors the process of Participatory Planning at different levels with supports from different institutional structures.

District Planning Committee consolidates the plans of different Panchayats and Municipalities to prepare draft district plan.

Project Activities and Outcomes

Gauge the strength and weaknesses of the DPC Focused workshop cum training programme at

District/ Block level. Facilitate in constitution of Planning units at

various levels Generate data on the available resources in

Panchayats and ULBs. Supporting planning process at different levels of

Panchayats & Municipalities. Manual for Participatory district planning

Methods proposed in the Project

1.Strengthen the DPC through capacity building on different issues of participatory planning.

2. Suggest DPC for the use of latest technology, especially, GIS tools and techniques for resource mapping and spatial convergence and integration of rural- urban plans.

3. Suggest use of PlanPlus software at different tiers of the district for the consolidation of district plan in collaboration with NIC.
