Sonoma County Local Government Electric Vehicle Partnership

• Partnership of the Sonoma County, Sonoma County Water Agency, all nine cities in Sonoma County.

• Two Air Districts, UC Davis, EBCCC, several local agencies and businesses

• Key Initiative – To promote that use on plug-in vehicles in our fleets and encourage development of EV Infrastructure.

Public Agency Role• Prepare EVCS Installation Guidelines

• Convert fleet and build public infrastructure

• Formulate/adopt friendly EV polices

• Create codes & develop regulations

• Streamline permitting process

• Partnership with the private sector to expand the program

Meeting The Vision• Develop a plan for “County Fleet”

• Get the “Cities” and local business involved

• Develop guidelines for planning, permitting and construction

• Secure grants for vehicles and infrastructure development

• Get chargers in the ground and vehicles in the field

• Develop sample policies for billing for electricity as a motor fuel

• Build initial network of chargers for public use

• Let business do what business should do – Grow the network
