High vo lume p u m p i n g capabil i t ies

The E2 vers ion of the 24 Series of ro tary lobe p u m p s from ITT J a b s c o offers h igh v o l u m e p u m p i n g wi th exce l l en t stan- dards of hygiene. This t op of the range p u m p features 150 mm d iame te r po r t s and offers f low mtcs of up to 2000 l / rain and a m a x i m u m pressure of 12 bar.

With recen t app l i ca t ions in the dairy indus t ry for p u m p i n g cheese curds and yoghur t , the E2 p u m p can bc readily c l eaned in -p lace (CIP) by us ing the p u m p i tself to c i r cu l a t e c leaning agents or by using an in tegra ted CIP sys tem.A sealed ro tor sys tem preven ts p r o d u c t get t ing into the sp l ine area. With no poss ibi l i ty of bac te r ia b r eed ing in this par t of the p u m p , it does not need to be r emoved for cleaning.

[ ] End-suct ion p u m p s for high flows

T h o m p s o n s , Kelly & Lcwis ' s Type MT and Type PBAN are an ex tens ion of TKL's KL-ISO and Hydro-Titan end-suct ion p u m p ranges , o f fe r ing la rger f l ow rates of up to 400 l/s and heads to 165 m.

Des igned to handle clean, dir ty and abrasive water, the MT (Mighty-Ti tan) s ingle s tage

T h r o u g h long e x p e r i e n c e ga ined in these indust r ies TKL has used the best in hydraul ic des ign to c rea te p u m p s that are low on m a i n t e n a n c e , h igh ly resis tant to wea r and tear and bo th c o m p a c t and robust .

In the Type PBAN p u m p range, i n t e r c h a n g e a b i l i t y o f wear ing par ts is ach ieved wi th just t w o f rame sizes w h i c h cover all six casing sizes from 100 to 300 m m discharge diam- eter. A m i n i m u m n u m b e r of par ts is therefore requi red for s tock inventory.

The p u m p mo to r s incorpo- ra te an a c c u m u l a t o r w h i c h s to res e n e r g y on the back s t roke and releases energy on the forward mot ion. This addi- t ional thrus t force genera ted by the m o t o r improves eff ic iency and a l lows the use of m o t o r s w i t h sma l l e r w a t t a g e than prev ious ly poss ib le for compa- rable duties.

In the even t of ovcrprcssure or c losed valve cond i t ion the p u m p s are a u t o m a t i c a l l y swi t ched off and the status of an internal con tac t is swi t ched so that an alarm can be raised. D Hydraul ic vari- able speed dr ive can ha lve energy r e q u i r e m e n t

Around 25% of the e lect r ica l e n e r g y c o n s u m e d by the p rocess indus t ry are used for p o w e r i n g p u m p s and fans. By op t imiz ing f low cont ro l , the c o n s u m p t i o n of e lec t r ic i ty and opera t ing costs can be r educed substantially, as can the envi- ronmen ta l loading. This is the claim of Control Drive Sweden AB in Karlstad, Sweden.

The c o m p a n y has devel- o p e d a variable speed dr ive for e q u i p m e n t such as p u m p s and fans that r educes the energy r e q u i r e m e n t by 30 - 60%, accord ing to the manufacturer . The pay-off t ime for the invest- men t is e s t ima ted to be 6 - 24 months .

The var iab le s p e e d dr ive takes up little room thanks to its c o m p a c t size, and is r e p o r t e d to be vet T reliable. It can be used for speed con t ro l in mos t industr ial app l ica t ions using AC-powcred systems such as pumps , fans, b lower s and w o r m convevor s .The dr ive can
