ETReC 2007 Strategy
Identify sensitive regions, i.e. optimal locations for supplementary observations for convective events in two European regions
1. COPS (guidance for targeted observation missions)
2. Mediterranean (preparation for future HYMEX campaign)
Dispatch targeted observations
1. EUCOS additional conventional observations on 6 days
– Radiosonde: 6 hourly ascents at ~10 locations
– AMDAR: T, p sensors on commercial aircraft giving ~4000 extra data points
2. DLR Falcon flights to sensitive regions
– wind and water vapour Lidars, dropsonde
