The novel is set from the Indian Institute of technology,

Delhi in the period 1991 to 1995.

It is about the adventures of 3 mechanical

engineering students namely Hari Kumar,

Ryan Oberoi & Alok Gupta who fail to

cope with grading system of IIT.

A perfect ten. A book with 270 pages of pure

fun.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Chetan bhagat was born in 22april 1974 in New Delhi in a Punjabi family.

He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute Of Technology (IIT) New Delhi

then studied at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.

He fell in love with his IIM Ahmedabad classmate Anusha and they eventually got married.

has two twin sons called shyam and ishaan

He Is one of the most popular novelist in India.

PLOT OF THE BOOK:

The language used by Chetan is filled with humor, sarcasm and is quite racy.

Narrated by Hari – One of the main characters.

Language used is simpler to appeal light readers.

Begins with the story of three boys – Hari, Ryan & Alok – became good friends – stayed together – deal with personal problems – Hari in love with Neha – difficult love life – surprise test – scored less marks – Deal with problems – Decide to top in the college – Stole the papers – Caught red handed – Suspended from college – Attempted suicide – Recovery – Establish nicely – Alok gets a good job and Hari joins a company in Mumbai – Ryan doesn’t get a job so becomes an assistant of Professor Veera.

NARRATIVE TECHNIQUES:

It seems as if a movie is being narrated.

Characters seem to be alive as it takes us into the real college life.

The words used are quite bold.

The conversation shown in the book is quite natural, casual and simpler.

There a twist in the end of most of the situations.

NEVER RUN BEHIND SUCCESS:

Success is the bye-product. Excellence always creates success. So, never run after the success, let it happen automatically in the life.

I don’t like book because I didn’t found it interesting. It is very common story. I don’t like attitude of Ryan, Alok, and Harry’s attitude towards the college. They were very much negative towards the college.

This is the first book/novel which I have read and I found this book very interesting and entertaining. You feel connected to the book and the characters and you never get bored at any point of time while reading the book. A perfect start for those who are least interested in reading a book/novel.

After going through the entire project I came to the conclusion that, this novel is very much interesting, because it mainly focus on the friendly relationship between three guys and how they tackle the situation in a best possible manner and enjoy the college life very much. Overall its good.

My opinion is read this novel as it is, enjoy it, but if you are thinking this as some sort of counter culture rebel stuff, forget it, its not even close to that.
