How to view accommodation letters for your students
-For Instructors-
Welcome to the instructor viewing accommodation letter tutorial.
Accommodation letters notify you about the academic accommodations your students will need to meet learning outcomes of your course.
In the tutorial, we will show you two ways to access these letters:
• Email: Click a link in an email you will receive from rcsd02@uvic.ca
• Self serve portal. Log on to the instructor self serve portal through the RCSD website.
Both ways take you into the same confidential student information system.
When a student with a disability in your course gives permission for you to access a letter of accommodation, you will receive an email.
Here is a sample:

It shows a list of the courses you are teaching this semester containing students with disabilities who have given permission to share their letters with you.
Click the "View letter" link for each respective student in your class(es).

This memo is to introduce you to your student. Student 2, who has registered with our Centre. Your student requiresthe following academic accommodations in order to meet the learning outcomes of your course:
CLASSROOM I LAB ACCOMMODATIONS:
• Copies of year overheads and diagram; wherever possible• Your student will contact you if a volunteer notetaker is needed.• If contacted by your student, you may confidentially refer a volunteer notetaker to your student. This volunteer will receive free photocopying for the notes.
TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS
• Extended time: 1.5x (thirty mins extra/hr)• Distraction reduced room• Use of computer with word processor
ASSIGNMENT / OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS:
You may receive an Instructor Exam Confirmation Form to complete for on-campus exams. This form will contain instructions about how to complete and return via email to the RCSD Exam Coordinator. Please complete this process as soon as possible to allow the RCSD to make timely exam arrangements. Please note that there are deadlines for students to submit bookings.
Your student has already discussed accessibility requirements with RCSD staff, but please take the opportunity to discuss this confidential memo with your student as he or she is the best source of information about his or her specific requirements for course accessibility.
Please contact me if you have any questions about the services we provide.
The personal Information in this memo is confidential. Its collection, protection, retention and disclosure is governed by provisions of the B.C. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

This is the instructor information page. This page will allow you to view accommodations letters for students with disabilities in your courses who have given you permission to do so.

Instructor Information
Welcome to the Instructor Information website. You can use this website to:
• View accommodations that have been assigned to your students• Tell us about your upcoming mid-terms, tests, quizzes and/or final exams
Please click the courses link in the menu to the left in order to get started. You will be asked to login using your UVic netlink ID and password.
This Website uses a secure server to protect your information data. Secure server software is used to encrypt the information exchanged between your Web browser and our Website. This measure ensures the security of all your transactions when you use the sites. We follow strict security procedures when filing and using the information you supply, and may request proof of your identity before supplying you with information.

Once you are logged in, you will see the "Accommodation letters" tab at the top. Click on that tab.
Select the term you which you want to view on the right.
This page shows a list of courses you teach this semester with students who have given permission for you to view their letters with you.
Select the "View letter" link to view the letters for each respective student.
